4X-games like Civilization VI or Stellaris or my surprise of the year: Elite Dangerous. Instead I sunk quite some time in “endless” games, i.e.
The Witcher 3 DLCs are the obvious exceptions, but most of the other RPGs or similar AAA-like games I started (Deus Ex, Torment: Tides of Numenara, Talos Principle) I couldn’t finish. There are some exceptions, but nowadays it’s mostly adventures or shorter, narrative-focused games that I mange to actually play through. Those in turn can be used to further rebuild the village and thus progress in the overall game. I can simply do one or two dungeon runs in about 10-15 Minutes, which will get me money and items. Personally, I’m drifting more and more towards rogue-likes or rogue-lites (preferably turn-based) that I can play in short periods but still can gain a bit of progress in the “meta game”.

We had some great releases and the PC market got quite a bit stronger. Well, when it comes to games this wasn’t a bad year at all. It wasn’t all bad, of course and especially when it comes to my work, I think I made some progress and even my finances became more stable. Generally, it was horrible… in politics the right wingers gained power, Trump was elected and the UK voted to leave the EU, a lot of celebrities died and more importantly, some less famous but very close ones, too.
